Yup, definetly working, it hangs a little on Cabo but thats ok. I still havent tried to change it back to other firmware to check if the flash is locked maybe but a firend told me that it can be done so no problem. thanks for the file

@drmendes Download the latest version of winrar and you will be able to uncompress the file.

I have upgraded the box but still have some problems. Sporttv is on, the image is fine but no sound and theres a sign of a satellite dish on the top of the screen!!! I do not have the manual so I do not know what it means. Is there any help for this? Ive got a kaon 230, ksf202Z!!! thanks again!!! :D

@drmendes Did you do factory reset after upgarding software and don't forget the default key reset in the key menu as well. And of course save your settings before you do factory reset.

I have upgraded the box, then factory reset and insert the keys. After factory reset, i had to scan for channels and unlock all the controls. Even by doing this it stills freezes and blocks the box. Do not know what to do!! Do you think I should change the box for something better? I am thinking of a kaon ksf570? what do you think?? many thanks for everything.

I also have a kaon 230 and this software works fine on it. All kaon and xtreme receivers are more or less the same. Did you have this freezing problem before with your receiver, if not what software did you use before, does it only happen on coded channels?

Ive received this receiver last week and it came with the software. It started by freezing and blocking but then I changed the keys and things were fine until yesterday. It has nagra 2 i believe because there are some spanish channels that work fine on it (caza i pesca e.g.). On sporttv (coded channel) it sometimes freezes the image or the sound goes away but not the image. i hope this helps. thanks for ur help!!!

Well, if you put the software that I posted above the whole d+ package on hispasat should work, there are occational freezes on tv cabo channels though, but not too bad. I don't quite understand why some channels work on your receiver and some not as you said.

No, it happens to all the channels!!! freezes and blocks up and theres no moving. a sign of a satellite dish comes up in the top left corner and the image is still. sometimes it switch off it self other times I will have to do it. Any chance of how to clear the D+ and insert the right stuff? thanks

The sign of a satellite dish in corner means that there is no signal, are you sure your dish is alligned and the cables and switches are set up properly? Can you borrow a receiver from someone and check if everything is ok with the signal?

blui, I think it is the box itself. Just now it could not turn itself on and it freezes in any channel. So, I think i will be looking for something new. Last question: I have seen a kaon KSC570 2 CI on the net for £75? do you think its a good deal or should I go for something better? Is it good for upgrades?!!

I don't think KSC570 is any worse or better than KSF 230, the hardware is more or less the same, the only difference is that you can use one or two extra modules with it, but they won't give you more channels than the inbluild emu in the unofficial software, unless you are planning to use official modules and cards for some provider.

If you just watch cabo, then try this soft on your receiver, it is more stable on cabo because it doesn't support nagra2. Don't forget to save your stettings before updating and after updating to reset the firmware and the keys. If you want to buy a new box I would go for a cheaper kaon model as you are already familiar with this receivers and know how to handle them, and who knows if there will be a public hack of cabo after they will switch to nagra2 only sooner or later.

hi again!!! I will upload the box with this firmware. how do I save the settings? I have always download the firmwares through kup and nothing else. so, i upload the firmware onto the box, unlock the menu, channel, receiver, etc and find the hispasat sat and then do a scan for the channels? Once more ur help has been truly appreciated. thanks!! :D
P.S: maybe one day I should join the "developers"!!!!

You can use this channel editor to save the settings. Install it on the computer, chose your model ( it is an fta receiver), check the right com port, download the settings on your computer and save them. This way you don't need to do a new channel search every time you do a factory reset on your receiver (and it is necessary otherwise your receiver won't work properly).

Ive installed the digix and retrieved the information from the stb. then I installed the new firmware and everything went fine. I downloaded the channel list to the stb but I had anyhow to search for the channels. anyhow things seem to be working ok. ive installed it about 15 minutes ago and just the ocassional short freezing. sportv is fine. I believe the nagra 2 has dissapeared because the taquilas and other spanish channels are not working now. it does not matter but maybe later it will be missed. ill keep u informed. any problem if I send you a message in case of more problems? if this stb keeps up I might keep it up for a while.

Wll I have an idea, try to do a default key reset and don't go to the sport channel and see if you still have those problems on other cabo channels.

if you want d+ and cabo (but cabo freezes occasionally)
the other file will work only for cabo but without freezes (usually).

Ive inserted the default keys on the hidden menu. Didnt go to any coded channels for about an hour and soon I changed channel it freezed. Then . the stb auto switched off and on and other times I had to do it myself. Then the sporttv channel worked for more than 1/2 hour and then the sound dissapeared but the image stayed. Then it auto switches off and turns on!!! So, any ideas, including throwing it at a wall?

@drmendes I would say something is wrong with the box. But to be sure try another receiver with your system to exclude the possibility that something is wrong with the dish allignment or the cables and connections.

I have never had KSF511 but I don't think it is much different from 230 more or less the same functionality you would need to find a hew software for it as its hw version 16.00.A1 is different from KSF230 16.C0.91

@drmendes No, the software I posted here is only for models with hardware that starts with 16.c0.** you will need to find a matching one for ksf 511 Bootloader 6.19 is the original one for 230 I wouldn't mess with the bootloader anyway. You could kill your receiver if putting a wrong bootloader version!

So, lets imagine that the new stb says:

any new firmware or software should include these details?

This is correct, but only first four digits of the hardware value matter like in your example 16.00.** the last two digits like 01 or A1 don't matter.
