I don't know the difference between BM 8400 Sta 2 and BM 8400 CI, but you can try both of them there is no harm.
See which one fits best for you.

Hi!

BM-8400STA2 = CA System (only card reader, no CI)
BM-8400CI = CI System

Ijust insert in Kaon 570 the new firm of Stream BM 8400CI, H/w 12.c1.a5, Emu 187. Menu Keys have this kind of encryp.: Nagravision, Viacess (TPS ok), Mediaguard, Conax (empty), Cryptow., Irdeto, Irdeto 2 (Art/showtime doesn't work) and Fixed CW:
